Cory has been serving as Associate Pastor of Spiritual Growth and Missions at First Baptist Church, Dandridge since August of 2008. As Associate Pastor, he oversees all aspects of education at FBC including Sunday School, Christian Life University, and Small Groups. He also oversees all of the local, national, and international mission efforts. His desire is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and to empower them for ministry and to be on mission.
Cory holds a Bachelor of Arts in Church Recreation from Carson-Newman University and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Cory is a member of the Tennessee Baptist Religious Educators Association as well as a board member of Appalachian Outreach and the Dandridge Christian Learning Center.
Cory is married to his wife Courtney who is a teacher at Cornerstone Christian Academy. The Hammetts have four children Ansley, Lila, Judson, and Maeve. Cory loves spending time with his family, wearing bow ties, playing golf, and watching UT football. Go Vols!
