Infant – 2 years

If you are planning on attending an upcoming service here at FBCD and you have a child from 0 to 2 we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your baby to the First Baptist Church Dandridge Nursery!  We want every family and baby to have a wonderful nursery experience and to enjoy their time worshipping the Lord here at FBCD.  Below is some helpful information regarding our nursery that we hope will answer any of your questions, but feel free to contact us if any question goes unanswered.

Nursery Hours of Availabilty

 Sunday             9:15am – 11:45am

Sunday              5:15pm – 7:45pm

Wednesday        5:15pm – 7:15pm

The Nursery is often the first impression a family has of our church.  We want your baby’s first experience to be warm and meaningful.  So, we provide a safe and clean environment.  Each bed and toy are cleaned and sanitized every week.  We try to meet the needs of each baby by dividing the children by age groups.

For the safety of all our little ones, we do ask that you do not bring your child to the Nursery if he/she is sick.  Remember, other children will be present, and they may become infected as well.  Some signs of illness in a child are: unusual fatigue or irritability, coughing, runny nose or eyes, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, inflamed mouth and throat, unusual drowsiness, or hoarseness.  You may bring your child with you to service, and we have crying rooms located to the rear of the main sanctuary.

Alert System

For the well-being of our babies (and parents) FBCD offers a pager alert system.  For babies ages 0-24 month’s old, and older children if needed, you will be given a pager so we can alert you if your child needs assistance.  We will not let your child be unduly sad or uncomfortable in the nursery.  If he or she has been crying and continues to be upset for 10 minutes, we will page you.  When a pager is assigned to you, your child will be identified with that pager number.  No one will be allowed to pick up your baby without presenting this pager to the nursery staff.  This is for the protection of your child.

Nursery Location

Upon approaching the Main Entrance into the Welcome Center, the nursery location will be immediately to your right.  If you are unsure, fret not, we have friendly folks at the Welcome Center and walking the campus to assist you.

Children's Ministries

Our goal in the Preschool and Children's Ministry is to provide your child with a loving, safe and exciting learning environment. Preschool and School Age children are lovingly cared for by volunteer workers who teach the basics of God's love through stories and activities.
Preschool and Children's Sunday School is offered during the 9:15 AM Sunday School Hour.

Nursery and Extended Session is offered during the 10:30 AM Worship Service for children birth through Kindergarten.

In addition to the traditional Sunday School programs, First Baptist has a complete ministry of spiritual formation for our children beginning with introducing them to Christ, to discipleship, to missions, and worship.

Missions groups begin at age two with Mission Friends -- an active study in missions for preschoolers.  As they reach school-age, Girls in Action and Royal Ambassadors teach boys and girls about missions by performing missions within our local community and by supporting missions activities throughout the world.

Preschool and Children's Choirs are about far more than just music education.  Their purpose is to teach children what it means to worship from an early age also beginning at age 2.  Children participate in active worship and regulalry help lead worship in our Sunday services.  In addition, choir groups present special programs and full musicals on an annual basis.

f35240b99e07d7b778213862125e5222-2What type of worship do you have?

When churches talk about worship, all too often the discussion involves words like musical style, contemporary, traditional, and blended.

When we talk about worship, we prefer to talk using words like genuine, authentic, lifestyle, and multigenerational.  Worship is so much more than music -- it is a lifestyle of service to God that involves genuine love for our Savior and an authentic response to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

What can I expect on a Sunday morning?

So when you come to worship on a Sunday, you will likely hear music of all different types.  There may be a children's choir that sings or a handbell choir that plays.  Most weeks there's a rhythm section with piano, guitar, drums, and organ.  During the school year, the orchestra plays most Sundays.  People of all different likes and different ages worship together.

And when we leave our corporate worship services, we encourage one another to worship throughout the week in faithful service to the Lord and to tell the story of God's great love for us.

Women's Ministries

The mission of the WMU reflect a biblical understanding of missions and provide a holistic approach to missions awareness and participation. Content in WMU materials supports these objectives, providing a comprehensive and balanced approach to missions in the church.

Pray for Missions

To pray for missions means to communicate with God on behalf of missions work, people involved in missions work, and people that need to know and accept God’s redeeming love.

Engage in Mission Action and Witnessing

The teaching and actions of Jesus recorded in the New Testament show us that the Christian faith is not stagnant but active and participatory. We are to share the gospel in word and deed verbally and through our actions.

Learn About Missions

Learning about missions helps believers better understand what God says about making His name known throughout the earth.

Support Missions

Christians have a part in upholding the cause of missions, maintaining missions work, and encouraging missions personnel.

Develop Spiritually Toward a Missions Lifestyle

For the believer, spiritual development involves growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ. It involves day-to-day living that applies and carries out the missions imperatives of God’s Word.

Participate in the Work of the Church and Denomination

As a missions ministry within a congregation, WMU encourages and provides opportunities for all church members and other participants to be aware of and involved in missions and cooperates with other missions ministries within the congregation to help the congregation fulfill its missions potential.

Young Women's Fellowship

Young Women's Fellowship is a monthly gathering of young women at FBC. The women of Young Women's Fellowship enjoy a great time of fellowship, Bible study and mission projects. Young Women's Fellowship meets on the first Tuesday of every month during the school year at 6:00 pm.

Men's Ministries

Baptist Men

Baptist Men On Mission (BMEN) are the men of the church taking seriously God’s call to be the husbands, fathers, mentors and churchmen who He has charged them to be. Being a godly man is the foundation to being part of the Baptist Men On Mission, because a godly man will be a godly husband, a godly father, and a godly mentor. The Baptist Men on Mission meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm.

The goal of the student ministry at FBC, Dandridge is to develop mature, Christian teenagers and help them transition into mature, Christian adulthood.  James 1:22 says, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”  Our students are encouraged not to simply come and listen to God’s word, but to go and put it into practice in their daily lives.

We have a number of programs and activities to help our students grow.  The two primary ones are Sunday School and Wednesday Night Live.  In Sunday School, our students are working through a new series called The Gospel Project.  In it, they are studying how God has spoken in the world, how Christ obeyed, explained and fulfilled God’s word, and how we should then respond and submit to God’s word.

Wednesday Night Live (WNL) is the name of our Wednesday night worship service that meets at 6 P.M.  At WNL, our students worship God through music and the study of His word.  We recently finished a series on the Ten Commandments, looking at how the law for Christians was meant to change our hearts and conform us into the image of God.  Currently, we are studying through the gospel of John and looking at the life and ministry of Jesus and how we should respond accordingly.

In addition to Sunday School and WNL, our students ministry offers a variety of other events and activities to help our students grow.  One is Disciple Now, a weekend event filled with worship and Bible study.  Another is Student Life Camp, where they can get away for a week to focus on God and have fun.  Our students also take a mission trip every summer where they can live out the gospel in a variety of ways.  In addition, our student ministry has a number of other events throughout the year where they can have fun, fellowship, and worship God.  Our hope in all these things is that our students will come to love God, but also to develop habits that will help them mature in their faith.
