Dr. Justin Terrell, Senior Pastor

Justin Terrell

Pastor Justin came to First Baptist Church in the fall of 2015, after serving two churches in Georgia. He is originally from Smithville, TN, and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee (B.S., 2002), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div, 2006), and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min, 2012). In 2010, he married Emily, and they have two daughters, Sadie and Jade. 

 Pastor Justin has a passion for expository preaching and Bible teaching, a heart for gospel-centered ministry in multi-cultural and multi-generational settings, and a desire to maintain purity in the local church according to Scripture. Along with ministry, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading theology, playing golf, cycling, hiking, watching sports, and traveling. He and his family have lifelong goals of visiting all of America‚Äôs National Parks and every Major League Baseball stadium.

Rev. Cory Hammett, Associate Pastor

 

Cory has been serving as Associate Pastor of Spiritual Growth and Missions at First Baptist Church, Dandridge since August of 2008. As Associate Pastor, he oversees all aspects of education at FBC including Sunday School, Christian Life University, and Small Groups. He also oversees all of the local, national, and international mission efforts. His desire is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and to empower them for ministry and to be on mission.

Cory holds a Bachelor of Arts in Church Recreation from Carson-Newman University and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Cory is a member of the Dandridge Ministerial Association and the Tennessee Baptist Religious Educators Association. He is also a board member of Appalachian Outreach and the Dandridge Christian Learning Center.

Cory is married to his wife Courtney who is a stay at home mom to their four children Ansley, Lila, Judson, and Maeve. Cory loves spending time with his family, wearing bow ties, playing golf, and watching UT football. Go Vols!

Rev. Chris Headley, Minister of Worship/Music

Chris joined our staff in February of 2010.  A native of Ohio, Chris attended the University of Richmond and received a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Studies, a specialized multidisciplinary Business Degree focused on nonprofit organizations.  He met his wife, Kristel, while attending Richmond.  Following college, Chris studied for the MDiv. in Church Music at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  In addition, Chris has an MA in Worship Studies from Liberty University and is a candidate for the Doctorate of Worship Studies (ABD) at the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies.

Chris has responsibility at First Baptist for all of the music and worship ministries of the church including all age-graded vocal choirs, age-graded bell choirs, Adult Choir, orchestra, and ensemble groups.  In addition to his responsibilities at First Baptist, Chris is the current Past-President of the Tennessee Baptist Church Music Conference and regularly sings with the Tennessee Men's Chorale.

Chris and his wife, Dr. Kristel Headley, have one son, Micah, who is 17 and a three year old daughter, Ellie.  Kristel is a professor at Johnson University, teaching Counselor Education and Supervision.  As a family, the Headleys enjoy traveling (when they're not completely consumed with schoolwork), music and the arts, sports, and just being together.

Rev. Andy Henard, Minister to Students

 

Andy became the Student Pastor and the newest staff member at FBC in May of 2012.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from the University of Kentucky.  Andy also holds a Master of Divinity with an emphasis in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Andy has been married to his wife, Kate, for 7 years.  Laurel, their first baby, was born in November 2012 and Ivy was born in March 2015.

When he is not busy, Andy enjoys playing tennis, racquetball, and ultimate Frisbee.  He also enjoys reading, UT football, and Kentucky basketball.
